Our Ministries

From our generous God, each of us have been given unique and personal gifts, talents and abilities to use in ministry unto our Lord, within His church and within our community...our privilege to: Share & Serve. 

Music Ministry: 

Music is a beautiful gift from God and we offer our music to our Lord

in glory and praise.

Lead by our accomplished Music Director, Mr. James Vyhanek,

you are invited to join our Music Ministry through the following programs: 

     Choir  /  Hand Bell Choir  /  Praise Singers  /  Instrumentalists

"But I can't read music", you say.

That's okay; all you need is a love of music, and a love for Jesus.

Scripture Readers:

People of various ages who feel comfortable in front of a group, are invited to serve as Scripture Readers and share with the congregation two of the three Bible lessons for the day.

Prayer Support:

We call our Prayer Support Ministry: "The Prayer Chain".

If you care about people and believe in the power of prayer;  

we invite you to join those who offer up to our loving Lord requested prayers for the needs of others.

Share & Care to the Community:

The Family of St. John reaches out to the community in various ways: Food Collection for the Elk Grove Township Food Pantry;

Collections of apparel and others needs for the poor and Financial Disaster Aid.

We host community: Blood Drives; Flu Shot Clinics; Health Clinics

and two Voting precincts.

We also seek to aid the growth of God's Kingdom by hosting two

other Christian Churches: Immanuel Bible Church (Korean) and

Iglesia Maranatha (Hispanic).

Board and Committes:

We are also blessed to have many fine people serve their Lord and His Church of St. John by way of various congregational boards and committees.

      We welcome new people to "share and care" by serving in

          any of our ministries in which you might be interested.
