WE CALL UPON YOU O LORD JESUS AS OUR GREAT PHYSICIAN, TO GRANT YOUR PRESENCE AND YOUR HEALING POWERS TO ALL WHO ARE ILL.
ESPECIALLY DO WE PRAY FOR: Ron, Vi, John, Chrystal, Carrie, John, Jackie...Marion...
for a son of Yours and a daughter of Yours contending with health challenges...and a dear child of yours facing uncertain health issues.
For Ron, Joanne, Marilyn, Chad, Lillian, Allison, Paula, Al, Lorrie, Jody, Stella, Carrie, Colleen, Ladona & Lee, Youssef and family...
ALL THESE WHO ARE RELATIVES OR FRIENDS OF OUR ST JOHN FAMILY.
AS WELL AS FOR ALL WITHIN OUR ST JOHN FAMILY, WITHIN OUR OWN FAMILIES, OR AMONG OUR FRIENDS, WHO NEED TO BE TOUCHED BY YOU.
GRANT O LORD, YOUR PRESENCE AND STRENGTH TO THESE YOUR CHILDREN AND TO THEIR FAMILIES AS THEY LOOK TO YOU AS THE LORD OF THEIR LIVES.
----------------------------------------------
AND WE CALL UPON YOU DEAR LORD AS THE LORD OF ALL NATIONS AND THE LORD OF OUR LAND…BE WITH AND BLESS YOUR PEOPLE AND YOUR WORLD.
We continue to pray for your protective hand to be upon us as Covid remains a health issue in our world.
We pray you O Lord, to put an end to the war in Ukraine and restore peace.
ALL THESE THINGS DO WE PRAY, IN THE NAME OF YOU, OUR DEAR SAVIOR AND LORD, JESUS CHRIST. - AMEN.
IN PERSON WORSHIP
(Revised 05.2022)
We have implemented the following for the protection of all:
1. No ushers will be used.
2. Bulletins will be available to be taken by each person...
after the service…please take the bulletin with you and dispose
of it at home.
3. Personal distancing is encouraged (with the exception of
spouses and family).
4. Pastor will not greet you at the door, but is available to talk.
5. Wearing of a face mask is optional.
If you would like to wear one, they are available.
6. Pastor will preach from the pulpit.
7. Offerings will not be taken during the service by any passing of
the plates.
There is a wooden box on the South wall of the narthex into
which all offerings may be dropped as a person enters or exits
the church. No Welcome Cards, except for Visitors, will be used.
8. Regarding Communion…due to health concerns only individual
cups will be offered.
9. The procedures for receiving Holy Communion will be as
follows... (No ushers will be used.)
You will rise from your pew and come forward, on your own,
keeping the 6 feet social distancing between yourself and
others, (who are not your family).
From front to back, you, will come down the center aisle to
where Pastor (wearing gloves and a mask) will give you the
wafer as you stand before him. - You will turn, and at the end
of the communion rail will be located a tray of individual cups,
you will take one and drink and carry that cup to a nearby
pedestal which has upon it a basket into which the empty cup
can be placed, and then you will return to your pew by the
side aisle.
In many churches, including Lutheran, this is called
"pass-by" communion.
Common surfaces will be sanitized prior to each worship service.
We seek to make St John a place where you will feel safe being here.
These are unusual times...even in the church.
For awhile…there is a “new normal” in our lives
to which we need to adapt.
