WE CALL UPON YOU O LORD JESUS AS OUR GREAT PHYSICIAN, TO GRANT YOUR PRESENCE AND YOUR HEALING POWERS TO ALL WHO ARE ILL.
ESPECIALLY DO WE PRAY FOR: Ron, Chrystal, Jackie, Erwin, Patti, Curt, Larry, Dwayne, Phyllis...
for a son of Yours and a daughter of Yours contending with health challenges.
For: Joanne, Chad, Allison, Viviane, Carrie, John, Youssef and family,
John, Chris, Marie, Shirley, Sharon, Lori...
ALL THESE WHO ARE RELATIVES OR FRIENDS OF OUR ST JOHN FAMILY.
AS WELL AS FOR ALL WITHIN OUR ST JOHN FAMILY, WITHIN OUR OWN FAMILIES, OR AMONG OUR FRIENDS, WHO NEED TO BE TOUCHED BY YOU.
GRANT O LORD, YOUR PRESENCE AND STRENGTH TO THESE YOUR CHILDREN AND TO THEIR FAMILIES AS THEY LOOK TO YOU AS THE LORD OF THEIR LIVES.
----------------------------------------------
AND WE CALL UPON YOU DEAR LORD AS THE LORD OF ALL NATIONS AND THE LORD OF OUR LAND…BE WITH AND BLESS YOUR PEOPLE AND YOUR WORLD.
We pray you O Lord, to put an end to the war in Ukraine and restore peace; and...to protect the innocents and bring an end to the Hamas-Israel war, according to your will
ALL THESE THINGS DO WE PRAY, IN THE NAME OF YOU, OUR DEAR SAVIOR AND LORD, JESUS CHRIST. - AMEN.
WORSHIP INFORMATION
Some of these practices were introduced during the Covid
pandemic and as a preference have continued since.
1. No ushers will be used.
2. Bulletins will be available to be taken by each person.
3. Pastor will usually preach from the pulpit.
4. Offerings will not be taken during the service by any passing of
the plates.
There is a wooden box on the South wall of the narthex into
which all offerings may be dropped as a person enters or exits
5. No Welcome Cards, except for Visitors, will be used.
6. Regarding Communion… only individual cups will be offered.
7. The procedures for receiving Holy Communion will be as
follows:
Please rise from your pew and come forward, on your own,
(No ushers will be used).
From front to back, please come down the center aisle to
where Pastor will give you a wafer as you stand before him.
Turn, and at the end of the communion rail will be located a
tray of individual cups, please take one, drink it and carry
that cup to a nearby pedestal upon which a basket has been
placed into which the empty cup can be placed.
Then please return to your pew by the side aisle.
Thank You.
(In many churches, including Lutheran, this is called:
"pass-by" communion.)
